Each liquid filling machine in the SA Packaging Machinery range has its own machine page. The vertical and horizontal form-fill-seal (VFFS and HFFS) machines are the priority products and form sachets and pouches from roll film; the horizontal fill-seal (HFS) machine fills premade and spout pouches; the bottle, cup, tube and can machines fill rigid containers; and capsule filling doses oils and suspensions.
Other machines sit after the filler on most liquid lines. A labelling machine applies front, back and wrap-around labels to bottles and jars; a shrink sleeve labeller fits full-body sleeves and tamper bands; and a sleeve sealer with shrink tunnel bundles bottles and cans into multipacks for transport.
These technical realities decide which liquid filling machine you need and how it is configured, whatever the pack.
The filler is chosen by how the liquid flows. Gravity fillers suit thin, free-flowing liquids such as water and juice. Piston fillers push a fixed volume and handle thick products: creams, sauces, honey and pastes. Pump fillers, including peristaltic pumps for hygienic, easy-clean dosing, cover a wide viscosity range and are the usual choice on sachet and pouch machines, where a diaphragm or piston pump doses into the film. Overflow fillers bring every bottle to the same visible level, for water, juice and cleaning liquids sold in clear bottles. Weigh fillers fill by net weight, for products sold by mass or whose density varies from batch to batch. We supply each of these fillers.
Liquid on the seal area is the most common reason a liquid pack leaks. Thin liquids drip from the nozzle between fills and thick ones string, so liquid filling machines use drip-free nozzles and finish each fill before the sealing jaws close. On sachets and pouches this matters more than on bottles, because the seal is the only barrier.
Shampoo, liquid soap, dairy and many cleaning products foam when filled fast, which causes short fills and overflow. Nozzle type and filling-head choice keep foam under control on a bottle line. Carbonated drinks are a different job again, because the gas has to stay in the product; our guide to bottling still and carbonated liquids explains the difference.
Juices, sauces and some dairy products are filled hot. A hot-fill liquid filling machine keeps the product at filling temperature (the can fill-seam machine uses a hot-fill recirculation system for this), and the pack has to take the heat: cans, suitable cups and heat-resistant bottles.
Food, beverage and cosmetic liquids need food-grade stainless-steel contact parts that strip down for cleaning between products. Our machines are built in SUS304 stainless as standard; any liquid that contains salt, such as sauces and brines, is built in SUS316 to resist corrosion. Cleaning chemicals, solvents and industrial liquids need contact parts and seals chosen for the chemical, so tell us exactly what you fill.

Powders, free-flowing granules and solid products need different dosing and machines.
These line configurations cover most liquid projects we quote, from a single-head semi-automatic filler for a start-up to a fully automatic line: a filler matched to the liquid, a container or pack machine and, where packs are cased or bundled, an end-of-line step.
Bottles are rinsed, filled and capped on a 3-in-1 or linear filler; an automatic capper matched to the cap type feeds and tightens each cap for a leak-proof, tamper-evident seal. The can fill-seam machine hot-fills juices, sauces and beverage concentrates, with a recirculation system that holds the product at filling temperature, and cup fill and seal lines are also used for hot-fill. For any other pack, give us the filling temperature at enquiry so the filler and container are specified for it.
Foaming products are filled on a bottle filler-capper-labeller whose nozzle and filling-head choice keeps foam down, so each bottle fills to volume without overflowing or wasting product. Send a sample for a trial run if your product foams heavily.
