Sachet filling machines form, fill and seal sachets and stick packs from roll film, for liquids, creams, powders and granules.
A sachet filling machine forms each sachet from roll film, doses the product into it and seals it, so the sachet is made and filled in one pass. Most sachets run on a vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) machine, which makes 3-side seal, 4-side seal and pillow sachets. A horizontal form-fill-seal (HFFS) machine suits flat and shaped sachets, and can add a bottom gusset. For high volumes, a multi-lane sachet machine forms several sachets or stick packs side by side. Each sachet packaging machine is fitted with the doser your product needs.
A multi-lane sachet machine forms, fills and seals several sachets or stick packs side by side in each cycle, so output rises without adding a second machine. It suits high-volume single-serve packs such as coffee and sugar sticks, spice blends, condiments and pharmaceutical powders. Our six-lane coffee machine forms six pillow-pack sachets at a time, and PackMan Packing runs an automatic 6-lane, 4-side seal machine for vinegar sachets.
We configure the lanes, the sachet size and the dosing system to suit your product. Send us your product and sachet size to ask about a multi-lane machine.
These details decide which sachet filling machine you need and how it is configured.
A sachet machine is fitted with the doser your product needs. Liquids, creams and gels are dosed with a pump, powders with an auger filler, and free-flowing granules such as sugar with a cup filler. A thick gel can be fed to the dosing pump by an infeed pump, so the product reaches each sachet at a steady rate.
Sachets hold small doses, so the doser is matched to the fill. Liquid sachet machines we have supplied cover fills from 2.6 ml to 60 ml. On an auger filler the screw is sized to the fill, with one screw for 1 g to 10 g, another for 10 g to 50 g and another for 50 g to 100 g. The auger sachet machine we supplied for powder fills within ±2%.
A VFFS sachet machine seals sachets on three or four sides, or as a pillow pack. A shaped sachet, such as a cosmetic sample with rounded corners, is sealed as a pillow pack and then punched to shape. To run a second sachet shape on the same machine, you add a second set of change parts: a forming shoulder, sealing jaws and a cutting knife.
Sachets are made from laminated film, printed on the roll. A photo-eye reads the print mark so each sachet is cut in the same place on the design. The knife can give a straight cut, a zig-zag cut or an easy-tear notch. A date coder prints the batch number and expiry date on each sachet as it is formed, which matters for food, medicines and cosmetics.
Output depends on the product and the sachet size. Single-lane sachet machines we have supplied are rated at 20 to 50, 16 to 60 and 30 to 60 sachets a minute. For higher volumes, a multi-lane machine forms several sachets or stick packs at once. Contact parts are SUS304 stainless steel as standard, and SUS316 where the product carries salt.
A liquid sachet filling machine is a VFFS machine fitted with a dosing pump, which measures each dose of liquid, cream or gel into the sachet as it is formed. Sauces and condiments, cosmetic samples, gels, hand sanitiser and shampoo are packed this way. Thicker gels are fed to the dosing pump by an infeed pump.
A liquid VFFS machine fills creams and lotions into shaped cosmetic sachets. It doses 2.6 ml to 60 ml, or 1 g to 20 g, at 30 to 60 sachets a minute. Each sachet is sealed as a pillow pack and punched to its shape.
A liquid VFFS machine with an infeed pump and a dosing pump fills gel into pillow packs of 50 ml to 1,000 ml, up to 150 mm wide, at 16 to 60 a minute. Larger liquid packs like these sit between a sachet and a pouch; see the pouch packaging machines.
We supply water sachet machines, which form, fill and seal drinking water in pillow sachets from roll film. Tell us the sachet volume and the output you need, and we will specify the machine.
A powder sachet machine is a VFFS machine with an auger filler. The one we supplied to a powder producer is fed by a screw conveyor and forms 3-side seal sachets from 30 mm by 30 mm up to 150 mm by 165 mm, from film 45 mm to 220 mm wide, at 20 to 50 a minute. Instant drinks such as coffee, hot chocolate, cappuccino and electrolyte mixes are packed this way, along with spices, baking powder, soup mixes and powdered medicines. Free-flowing granules such as sugar and salt are dosed with a cup filler instead. See the sugar packaging machine, the coffee packaging machine, powder packaging machines and grain and granule packing machines.
A stick pack machine, also called a stick packaging machine or stick pack filling machine, forms long, narrow sachets, usually on several lanes at once, so each cycle fills a row of stick packs. Stick packs suit free-flowing powders and granules: coffee, sugar, protein and vitamin powders, electrolytes, collagen, salt and pepper, and pharmaceutical powders. Multi-lane machines also make flat sachets: PackMan Packing runs an automatic 6-lane, 4-side seal machine for vinegar sachets. Liquids, gels and creams usually go into flat sachets rather than stick packs. To compare the two formats, read our guide to stick packs and sachets.
A sachet filling machine is chosen by the product first and the sachet second. Each page below shows the dosing and the machines for that product form.
Sachets suit single doses and samples: condiments, sugar and coffee, instant drinks, medicines, and cosmetic and household samples such as detergent and cleaning concentrates.
These sachet lines come from machines we have supplied, for creams, gels and powders.
A liquid VFFS machine doses 2.6 ml to 60 ml of cream into shaped sachets, sealed as pillow packs and punched to shape, at 30 to 60 a minute. A second forming shoulder, set of jaws and knife lets it run a second sachet shape.
The SAP-320 liquid VFFS machine feeds gel through an infeed pump to a dosing pump, which fills pillow packs of 50 ml to 1,000 ml, up to 150 mm wide, at 16 to 60 a minute.
The SAP-160 powder VFFS machine is fed by a screw conveyor and doses powder with an auger filler into 3-side seal sachets, within ±2%, at 20 to 50 a minute.
Model codes shown are machines we have built or configured for previous projects. Your machine is specified and built to suit your product, output and pack format — not supplied off the shelf.

A sachet filling machine is only as good as the support behind it. Before you choose a manufacturer or supplier, check where the spares are held, who installs the machine, and whether you can see your own product run on it first.
SA Packaging Machinery has supplied packaging machines since 2017. Each machine is specified to suit your product, sachet and output, installed by our own technicians, who have a combined 45 years’ experience, and supported with spares held in Johannesburg. Machines can be CE marked on request and are built in SUS304 stainless steel, or SUS316 where the product carries salt. Every machine carries a 12-month warranty on mechanical parts, and our technical team installs it, tests it and trains your operators on site. You can send a sample for a trial run at our Riversands showroom before you order.

Liquid sachet machines we have supplied dose from 2.6 ml, and an auger filler with its smallest screw doses powder from 1 g. The powder sachet machine we supplied forms sachets from 30 mm by 30 mm. Send us your fill and sachet size and we will confirm what the machine can do.
Yes, with a second set of change parts. The forming shoulder, sealing jaws and cutting knife set the width and shape of the sachet, so a second set lets the same machine run a second sachet. A shaped sachet is sealed as a pillow pack and punched to shape.
Yes. A date coder fitted to the sachet machine prints the batch number and expiry date on each sachet as it is formed. On printed film, a photo-eye keeps the print and the cut in register.
Single-lane sachet machines we have supplied are rated at 16 to 60 sachets a minute, depending on the product and the sachet size. For higher volumes, a multi-lane machine forms several sachets or stick packs side by side.
Liquids, gels and creams go into flat sachets. Free-flowing powders and granules suit both: stick packs use less film per dose and run well on multi-lane machines, while flat sachets give more space for print. Our guide to stick packs and sachets compares them in detail.
