Industrial packaging machinery supplied from Johannesburg to manufacturers across Botswana, a single day’s drive from Gaborone.
We supply flow wrap, VFFS, HFFS, filling, labelling and shrink wrapping machines to producers in Botswana. The full range is available on the same terms as for a buyer in Johannesburg. The machine that suits you depends on your product, your packaging film and your required output.
Botswana producers most often ask for shrink multipack equipment and weigher-fed vertical form-fill-seal lines. This reflects what the country packs: beef and dairy for retail, bottled water at scale, and salt and soda ash in bulk.
Send us your product and we will test it before you buy. Courier us your product, the packaging film you intend to use and the carton you pack into. We run a sample batch on the recommended machine and send you the results. No deposit is required for the trial.
We have not yet installed a machine in Botswana. Across Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia we have delivered all four of the machine types listed on this page, being shrink wrap, flow wrap, vertical form-fill-seal and horizontal form-fill-seal, as well as multihead-weigher systems. We have also air freighted machines directly to clients in Nigeria.

A machine for Botswana is quoted exactly as it would be for a South African buyer, around your product, pack format, output and level of automation, with installation and operator training included. What changes is the leg from Johannesburg and the clearing at the Tlokweng or Martin’s Drift crossing. Those sit with you, and the split is set out below and in full in our guide to exporting packaging machines.
Our quoted price includes sea freight from the factory to our workshop in Riversands, Johannesburg, which is our only premises in South Africa. There are two ways to move the machine from there into Botswana. Collecting from Johannesburg is usually the more affordable route.
The machine arrives at Riversands as part of our normal sea shipment, and this freight is already included in the quoted price.
For some machines we can air freight the unit directly to your country instead of routing it through Johannesburg. We supplied our clients in Nigeria this way.
Botswana is landlocked, and at roughly 360 km the road from Johannesburg is quicker and cheaper than any sea routing. We also book whole containers and consolidate several customers’ machines into each one, so a shared container cannot be redirected to a single buyer.
Machines leave our Riversands workshop in Johannesburg and reach Gaborone in a single day’s drive, roughly 360 km through Tlokweng or Pioneer Gate. Francistown is about 570 km via Martin’s Drift. This is the shortest run of any country we supply. Our technicians then travel to site to install and commission the machine.
Lead time is the same as for a South African buyer: a machine we hold at Riversands is ready once payment clears, and one that is not in stock takes 10 to 12 weeks from deposit. Transport from Johannesburg and clearing at the border are on top of that, and the export guide sets out the full sequence.
We supply and support producers across the region from the same Johannesburg workshop, including Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, Mozambique, Eswatini, Lesotho and Malawi. See every area we cover on our service areas page.
Ratings and reviews are published on our Google Business Profile, where they can be read in full and in context.
Highly recommended! Excellent customer service, great prices, and they always go above and beyond.
These are the questions we are asked most often by producers in Botswana. Clearing, warranty, air freight and the rest of the export process are set out in full on our guide to exporting packaging machines from South Africa.
This is the shortest run of any country we supply. Machines leave Riversands and reach Gaborone in a single day’s drive, roughly 360 km through Tlokweng or Pioneer Gate, with Francistown about 570 km via Martin’s Drift. You can send your own truck or appoint a courier to handle the crossing.
Our own technicians drive up and commission the machine on site, and installation and operator training are included in the quote. You carry the visa where one is needed, the accommodation and the days on site. The short run from Johannesburg keeps that side of the cost down.
Wear parts are held in Johannesburg and couriered up, and on the Gaborone corridor that is a short trip rather than an import. The same part ordered from an overseas factory takes eight to twelve weeks. Allow for clearing at the border on top of the courier time.
Call or video call the workshop with your operator at the machine, and we work the fault through with them. Most problems turn out to be settings, wear parts or sensors. If a technician is genuinely needed, Gaborone is close enough to reach quickly, and you cover the travel.
We quote in rand and will convert to pula on request, noting the rate and the date it was quoted. Entry- to mid-level machines are 50% deposit and the balance before delivery; larger or customised projects are tied to the Factory Acceptance Test.
Tell us what you are packing and where in Botswana the machine is going. We need the product, the pack format, your target output, your electrical supply and the town. We will then recommend a suitable machine, quote the price, and compare the cost of collecting from Johannesburg against air freight.
