A machine for Mozambique is quoted exactly as it would be for a South African buyer, around your product, pack format, output and level of automation, with installation and operator training included. What changes is the leg from Johannesburg and the clearing at the Lebombo crossing. Those sit with you, and the split is set out below and in full in our guide to exporting packaging machines.
Our quoted price includes sea freight from the factory to our workshop in Riversands, Johannesburg, which is our only premises in South Africa. There are two ways to move the machine from there into Mozambique. Collecting from Johannesburg is usually the more affordable route.
The machine arrives at Riversands as part of our normal sea shipment, and this freight is already included in the quoted price.
For some machines we can air freight the unit directly to your country instead of routing it through Johannesburg. We supplied our clients in Nigeria this way.
Mozambique has working ports at Maputo, Beira and Nacala, so a direct sea shipment is possible if you are prepared to take a full container. For Maputo the 550 km road run from Johannesburg is usually quicker and cheaper. A shared container cannot be redirected to a single buyer, so this only applies to a full container. Tell us the machine and we will price both routes.
Machines leave our Riversands workshop in Johannesburg and travel the N4 through Ressano Garcia and Lebombo. It is roughly 550 km to Maputo. Beira and Nacala are considerably further, and the route is confirmed when the freight is booked. Our technicians then travel to site to install and commission the machine.
Lead time is the same as for a South African buyer: a machine we hold at Riversands is ready once payment clears, and one that is not in stock takes 10 to 12 weeks from deposit. Transport from Johannesburg and clearing at the border are on top of that, and the export guide sets out the full sequence.

Maputo is the easy one: out on the N4 through Ressano Garcia and Lebombo, roughly 550 km, well within a day. Beira and Nacala are considerably further and the routing is confirmed when the freight is booked. Most buyers appoint a courier who handles the crossing.
Our technicians travel to site to commission the machine and train your operators, both included in the quote. You carry the visa, transport, accommodation, meals and the days on site. For a Maputo plant that is a drive rather than a flight, which keeps it modest.
Wear parts are held in Johannesburg and couriered to you, which on the Maputo corridor is quick. Ordering the same parts from the overseas factory takes eight to twelve weeks. Allow for clearing at Ressano Garcia, and more time again for Beira or Nacala.
Call or video call the workshop with your operator standing at the machine and we work the fault through with them. We have machines running in the country and support has been handled remotely. Where a visit is needed we will arrange it and you cover the travel.
Quotes are issued in rand and can be converted to metical or dollars on request, with the rate and date noted. Entry- to mid-level machines are 50% deposit and the balance before delivery; full lines are structured around the Factory Acceptance Test.
