Industrial packaging machinery supplied from Johannesburg to manufacturers across Lesotho, roughly 440 km from Maseru.
We supply flow wrap, VFFS, HFFS, filling, labelling and shrink wrapping machines to producers in Lesotho. The full range is available on the same terms as for a buyer in Johannesburg. The machine that suits you depends on your product, your packaging film and your required output.
Producers in Lesotho most often ask for bagging, bottling and shrink multipack equipment. This reflects the country’s manufacturing base, which is weighted towards textiles and apparel, bottled water and dairy.
Send us your product and we will test it before you buy. Courier us your product, the packaging film you intend to use and the carton you pack into. We run a sample batch on the recommended machine and send you the results. No deposit is required for the trial.
We have not yet installed a machine in Lesotho. Across Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Zambia we have delivered all four of the machine types listed on this page, being shrink wrap, flow wrap, vertical form-fill-seal and horizontal form-fill-seal, as well as multihead-weigher systems. We have also air freighted machines directly to clients in Nigeria.

A machine for Lesotho is quoted exactly as it would be for a South African buyer, around your product, pack format, output and level of automation, with installation and operator training included. What changes is the leg from Johannesburg and the clearing at the Maseru Bridge or Ficksburg crossing. Those sit with you, and the split is set out below and in full in our guide to exporting packaging machines.
Our quoted price includes sea freight from the factory to our workshop in Riversands, Johannesburg, which is our only premises in South Africa. There are two ways to move the machine from there into Lesotho. Collecting from Johannesburg is usually the more affordable route.
The machine arrives at Riversands as part of our normal sea shipment, and this freight is already included in the quoted price.
For some machines we can air freight the unit directly to your country instead of routing it through Johannesburg. We supplied our clients in Nigeria this way.
Lesotho is landlocked and entirely surrounded by South Africa, so the road from Johannesburg is the only sensible route in. We also book whole containers and consolidate several customers’ machines into each one, so a shared container cannot be redirected to a single buyer.
Machines leave our Riversands workshop in Johannesburg and reach Maseru in roughly 440 km, crossing at Maseru Bridge or Ficksburg. Lesotho is entirely surrounded by South Africa, so every kilometre of the run is on South African road until the border post itself. Our technicians then travel to site to install and commission the machine.
Lead time is the same as for a South African buyer: a machine we hold at Riversands is ready once payment clears, and one that is not in stock takes 10 to 12 weeks from deposit. Transport from Johannesburg and clearing at the border are on top of that, and the export guide sets out the full sequence.
We supply and support producers across the region from the same Johannesburg workshop, including Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, Mozambique, Eswatini and Malawi. See every area we cover on our service areas page.
Ratings and reviews are published on our Google Business Profile, where they can be read in full and in context.
Highly recommended! Excellent customer service, great prices, and they always go above and beyond.
These are the questions we are asked most often by producers in Lesotho. Clearing, warranty, air freight and the rest of the export process are set out in full on our guide to exporting packaging machines from South Africa.
Roughly 440 km from Riversands to Maseru, crossing at Maseru Bridge or Ficksburg. Because Lesotho is entirely surrounded by South Africa, every kilometre of the run is on South African road until the border post itself, which makes the transport side simple to arrange.
Our technicians drive through and commission the machine on site, and installation and operator training are included in the quote. You carry the border formalities, accommodation and the days on site. The short run keeps the travel portion small compared with our other cross-border jobs.
Wear parts are held in Johannesburg and couriered to Maseru, which is a domestic run right up to the border post. Ordering the same parts from the overseas factory takes eight to twelve weeks. Allow for clearing at Maseru Bridge or Ficksburg.
Call or video call the workshop with your operator at the machine. Most faults are settings, wear parts or sensors and get solved on the call. If a technician has to come out, Maseru is within a day’s drive, and you cover the travel.
We quote in rand, which the loti is pegged to, so the quoted figure carries across directly. Terms are 50% deposit and the balance before delivery, with complex or full-line projects structured around the Factory Acceptance Test.
Tell us what you are packing and where in Lesotho the machine is going. We need the product, the pack format, your target output, your electrical supply and the town. We will then recommend a suitable machine, quote the price, and compare the cost of collecting from Johannesburg against air freight.
