Industrial packaging machinery supplied from Johannesburg to manufacturers across Zambia. A Zambian producer already runs one of our powder form-fill-seal machines.
We supply flow wrap, VFFS, HFFS, filling, labelling and shrink wrapping machines to producers in Zambia. The full range is available on the same terms as for a buyer in Johannesburg. The machine that suits you depends on your product, your packaging film and your required output.
Zambian producers most often ask for auger-dosed and weigher-fed vertical form-fill-seal machines. This reflects what the country packs: maize meal, sugar, dairy powder and mining consumables. Powders and dry goods lead the enquiries we receive, so they lead this page.
Send us your product and we will test it before you buy. Courier us your product, the packaging film you intend to use and the carton you pack into. We run a sample batch on the recommended machine and send you the results. No deposit is required for the trial.
We have delivered a semi-automatic powder form-fill-seal machine into Zambia. Across Zimbabwe and Mozambique we have supplied all four of the machine types listed on this page, being shrink wrap, flow wrap, vertical form-fill-seal and horizontal form-fill-seal, as well as multihead-weigher systems. We do not publish client names without permission.

A machine for Zambia is quoted exactly as it would be for a South African buyer, around your product, pack format, output and level of automation, with installation and operator training included. What changes is the leg from Johannesburg and the clearing at the Chirundu or Kazungula crossing. Those sit with you, and the split is set out below and in full in our guide to exporting packaging machines.
Our quoted price includes sea freight from the factory to our workshop in Riversands, Johannesburg, which is our only premises in South Africa. There are two ways to move the machine from there into Zambia. Collecting from Johannesburg is usually the more affordable route.
The machine arrives at Riversands as part of our normal sea shipment, and this freight is already included in the quoted price.
For some machines we can air freight the unit directly to your country instead of routing it through Johannesburg. We supplied our clients in Nigeria this way.
Zambia is landlocked, so a sea shipment would still arrive at Durban, Beira or Walvis Bay and travel the rest of the way by road. We also book whole containers and consolidate several customers’ machines into each one, so a shared container cannot be redirected to a single buyer.
Machines leave our Riversands workshop in Johannesburg and travel the N1 to Beitbridge, north through Zimbabwe and across the Chirundu border. It is roughly 1,900 km to Lusaka. Some consignments go through Botswana and over the Kazungula bridge instead. Most clients appoint a courier that handles both crossings. Our technicians then travel to site to install and commission the machine.
Lead time is the same as for a South African buyer: a machine we hold at Riversands is ready once payment clears, and one that is not in stock takes 10 to 12 weeks from deposit. Transport from Johannesburg and clearing at the border are on top of that, and the export guide sets out the full sequence.
We supply and support producers across the region from the same Johannesburg workshop, including Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Eswatini, Lesotho and Malawi. See every area we cover on our service areas page.
Ratings and reviews are published on our Google Business Profile, where they can be read in full and in context.
Highly recommended! Excellent customer service, great prices, and they always go above and beyond.
These are the questions we are asked most often by producers in Zambia. Clearing, warranty, air freight and the rest of the export process are set out in full on our guide to exporting packaging machines from South Africa.
The usual route runs up the N1 to Beitbridge, north through Zimbabwe and across at Chirundu, roughly 1,900 km to Lusaka. Some consignments go through Botswana and over the Kazungula bridge instead. Either way it is two crossings, so most buyers appoint a courier who handles both.
Our own technicians come up to commission the machine and train your operators, and both are in the quote. You arrange and cover the visa, flights, accommodation, meals, local transport and the days on site. Visas take time, so tell us early when you want the line running.
Wear parts go out by courier from the Johannesburg shelf. Against an eight to twelve week factory order that is the difference between a day of downtime and a lost season. Build in clearing time at Chirundu or Kazungula, and keep a small set of consumables on site.
Phone or video call the workshop and we work through it with your operator at the machine. A Zambian producer already runs one of our powder form-fill-seal machines and support has been handled this way. If a site visit is needed we arrange it and you cover the travel.
We quote in rand and convert to kwacha or dollars on request, noting the rate and the date, and we can update that conversion to the rate on the day you pay. Terms are 50% deposit and the balance before delivery.
Tell us what you are packing and where in Zambia the machine is going. We need the product, the pack format, your target output, your electrical supply and the town. We will then recommend a suitable machine, quote the price, and compare the cost of collecting from Johannesburg against air freight.
